Emergency PIN

Set up an optional "emergency PIN." If entered instead of the main PIN, the screen and operations will appear normal, but the Bitcoin key generated will access a separate wallet. This keeps your primary funds protected.

To utilize this feature, consider adding a small amount of Bitcoin to the emergency wallet. The amount is up to you to make it believable.

The emergency wallet derives from your BIP39 words, so no separate backup is needed. However, there’s no way to access the main wallet from it.

Timed Brick PIN

This is a covert version of the BRICK ME PIN, adding a time delay (minutes/hours/days) to PineBridge login.

In this mode, the PineBridge will appear to delay access but will brick itself (or optionally wipe the seed) after the countdown. It offers plausible deniability while protecting the device from being taken by an attacker.

BIP39 Passphrases (25th Word)

Support for BIP39 passphrases allows creating numerous distraction wallets. It’s useful for fund organization, with the ability to generate unlimited wallets using BIP39, unlike a single emergency PIN.

Brick Me PIN

Define a "Brick Me" PIN. When entered, it destroys the secure element, rendering PineBridge unusable. This can serve as an added layer in your duress strategy, though it’s optional.

Login Countdown

Impose a time delay for PineBridge login. With this enabled, enter the PIN, then wait for the countdown to complete. Enter your PIN again to access the device.

  • PB Plus PB Small

    Dual Secure Elements for Key Protection

    Unlike some hardware wallets that rely solely on the main processor to store sensitive information, PineBridge uses dual Secure Elements from separate manufacturers to safeguard your Bitcoin keys.

    The PineBridge specifically incorporates Microchip's ATECC608 and Maxim's DS28C36B to store your critical master secret—the 24-word BIP39 seed phrase.

    To compromise your funds, all three components (the two Secure Elements and the main processor) would need to be breached.

    Authenticity Indicators

    To guard against physical tampering, we sign our firmware with a factory key. During startup, both firmware and memory are verified, and a Green/Red indicator shows the result.

    The indicator status is controlled by dedicated circuitry linked to a Secure Element, preventing software manipulation. Additionally, any physical tampering with this circuitry would be visible on the device’s surface.

    Anti-Phishing Words

    PineBridge's PIN is divided into two parts, like 1234-5678. After entering the first part, two unique words appear on-screen. These words are specific to your device and PIN prefix, adding another layer of verification.

    Memorize and check these words every time to ensure you’re using your genuine PineBridge, protecting you from phishing attempts.

    Enhanced Physical Security

    The PCB design adds resistance to physical tampering, and the transparent casing allows users to check for any hardware modifications.

    There is no factory reset on the PineBridge—if the PIN is lost, it becomes e-waste. Instructions for securely destroying the device are even labeled for ultimate peace of mind.

    Air-Gapped Operations

    PineBridge operates independently of computers, running solely on USB power or AC adapters, ensuring complete isolation.

    • Setup and select your PIN.
    • Generate or import your 24-seed words securely.
    • Export wallet files for use with desktop or mobile wallets.
    • Generate addresses with the Address Explorer.
    • Backup of seed and settings with encrypted 7z files.
    • Sign transactions securely using PSBT files (BIP174).
    • Perform firmware upgrades.
    • Configure multisig wallets offline.

    Use industrial-grade MicroSD cards or any standard MicroSD card to transfer data. For extra security, consider separate cards for incoming and outgoing data or single-use cards.

Unique Bag Identifier

Each new PineBridge comes in a tamper-evident plastic bag, uniquely coded with a serial number. This "bag number" is recorded into the device itself upon packaging. This number is unalterable, and we prompt you to verify it the first time you power up your PineBridge.
